The M&A market in Latin America recorded in November 2021 a total of 249 mergers and acquisitions, between announced and closed, for an aggregate amount of USD 8,831.86m.
In the eleven months of the year there have been a total of 3,152 transactions, of which 1,553 register a combined amount of USD 135,773m, which implies an increase of 39.41% in the number of transactions and an increase of 124.93 % in the amount of these, with respect to November 2020.
According to November's data, all the countries have registered growth in the number of transactions and in their capital mobilized. By number of operations, Brazil leads the ranking of the most active countries in the region with 2,222 deals (51% up), and 145% up in the capital mobilized. It is followed by Mexico, with 344 transactions (26% up), and a 59% increase of its amount compared to November 2020.
300 deals were carried out in Chile (up 44%). Colombia reflects 196 transactions in the eleven months of 2021 (35% up) and a mobilized capital that has reached an increase of 150% compared to the previous year. Argentina registers 173 deals (27% up), and an increase of 524% in the capital mobilized. Peru presents 100 transactions, (11% up) and an increase of 261% in the capital mobilized.
