Defying expectations and many challenges, EMEA M&A held up well in 2022. Deal volume across the was down by only 4% yoy to 12,236 transactions - remaining comfortably above pre-pandemic levels as the focus shifted towards smaller and strategic transactions - and total value declined by 23% to just over €1tn.
As a result, EMEA outperformed both the Americas and APAC in relative terms.
