The M&A market in APAC appears to have returned to full health, according to data from Mergermarket. FY 2021 saw dealmaking activity that comfortably exceeded the levels seen prior to the pandemic. For 2022, the IMF forecasts modest growth for APAC and expects the economies in the region to expand by more than 5%.

APAC M&A witnessed era-defining deals in industrials and chemicals (I&C) and technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) in 2021, and this trend is expected to continue this year.
